Fantan is a card game for 2 to 5 players, ages 6 and up. The game consists of 56 cards divided into 4 colored suits: blue (4), red (4), yellow (8), and green (6). Each player starts with 12 chips. Players try to win the pot by playing cards to empty their hands.
The dealer shuffles the cards and allows the next dealer to sit on the left, by taking out the cards clockwise and hiding their cards, if there are 4 players in the game, then each player is dealt the same number of cards. If three or more players join the game, some players will receive more cards than expected for the reason that 52 cannot be divided into 3, 5 or 6 parts, the reason being that this inconsistency will be fixed in order to maintain fairness due to the modification of the special card distribution each round.
There are 3 types of bets :
- Bet your favorite number with 1, bet 85. This guesses whether there is a nut or button between 1 and 4 in the 1 stack.
- A spread with 2 number combinations is a bet on 2 numbers at the same time. You can choose from 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-4 and 3-4, and the player can choose his own number combinations.
- To bet on 3 Fantans, the bet is 3 to 95 and at least 3 numbers must be placed per game.
Fantan is a card game for two or more players. Each player begins with 6 cards, and turns take place in a clockwise direction. The object is to score one point by either being the last player left in the game, or by having the fewest cards when someone reaches 100 points and the game ends. In each round of play, you must choose whether to "play" or "pass". If you pass, then when your turn comes around again (if there are still other players left), if any of those other players have played 7's and 8's during the interim, you must pay them one chip apiece (if it was possible) for having passed at an earlier turn. However, if all three of them played something else, then you don't owe them anything for passing!
